3 Days at Work

So far work is okay although there's really a lot of work to do. First day of work and I was already getting quite busy. But at least I have full internet access at work and I'm learning something new everyday. Else I will seriously be bored to death.

First day of work and already boss ask me to download msn. Well well, what can I say? Lol.

After which my manager gave me a welcome lunch. Initially, I did not know she was gonna treat me. She just said,"Let's lunch together afterwards." So when she and 2 other colleagues led me to this Japanese restaurant at Centrestage, I was like thinking wow these people really don't eat cheap. So I ordered the cheapest thing there which is a set meal for $6.60. =.=

But some time later, our table was filled with our own main courses, PLUS scallop mentai, the dragon roll thingy, tempura platter, cod fish, and the nicest tasting soft shell crabs I've ever eaten. Like wow. So much food! That was really nice and generous of her. I honestly did not know it was gonna be a treat else I would've taken some pics. >_<

Anyway my cubicle is situated in a pretty good position. Quite a lot of privacy haha. And that makes my little space really cosy. ^_^ But I must admit on first impression I thought the whole office is really messy. According to my colleague, Melissa, you can tell how well a retailer is doing by looking at how messy the office is, because of the amount of merchandise lying everywhere. >_<

Woohoo! My desk. Still quite empty haha..

Woot! My very first official namecard...

So anyways I received my first phone call on Tuesday. It was so weird. Melissa was at my desk when we heard a phone ring...

Mel: Eh your phone.
Me: Why would anybody call me?
Mel: Maybe it's mine. *goes to check* Eh, it's not mine leh.
Me: It's mine! *panics* What do I do? What should I say?
Mel: Just pick up the phone! -_-"

So it was a supplier who called to ask me something. Apparently, people DO respond to the signatures you put in your emails. -_-" I should get used to this.

Long day ahead... need to catch up on some sleep!

UV Lens Filter

I'm sorry this post also jump queue. I'm just wayy too excited. Hee. Thanks dear for the birthday present part 1. Hehehe...

Went down to Fu Lu Shou today to get my B+W 58mm 010 UV-Haze 1x MRC Brass filter. You say,"Fu Lu Shou?" Yes apparently the guy who sells this is not a photographer. He sells jade bangles for goodness sake. He sells UV filters as a sideline. And they are really good quality filters. I guess it's a pretty good deal? Got to know this through Jack.

Kh was telling me that when school starts, he's gonna import some board games in batches of 20.

Me: What?! Are you crazy? 20 board games per batch???
Kh: Please. You are willing to spend $55 on a piece of glass.
Me: And you are willing to spend a few thousand dollars on some cardboard.

If photography is an expensive hobby, so is board gaming. Zzz...

Right now I can't stop smiling at my little piece of glass. =DDDD

Surprise, surprise!

Yes, this year's birthday theme is "Hand-made things and Surprises", all thanks to MC. Lol.

I still have Cruise Part 3, JBP, and Kh's bdae dinner to blog and this should be next in line. But MC, I've bumped this post up the queue at your request!

Jf and I had put in a lot effort into planning and executing Mc and Kh's birthday surprise.

6.30pm: Mc, Jf, and Kh meet. They walk around Vivocity first because I was late. Mc and Kh did not know where we were going to eat. They thought that we were going to some restaurant as usual. They were getting hungry. They did not know Clarence was coming and they didn't know there will be a cake.

7.30pm: I arrived at Vivocity rooftop with the western takeaways that I had bought and I set up the "dinner table". Jf pretended to wanna go to the rooftop and had Mc and Kh following her. I heard Mc saying,"Is that gerlynn?" They were surprise to see me there with the dinner displayed. They sat down and started eating. They loved the dinner. Jf took out her ukulele and sang for us. It was really nice. Picnic under the moonlight with live performance. Woot.

8.00pm: Mc was like,"Why does this person look like Clarence?" as someone emerges from the darkness. It was Clarence and he brought a cake with him. It was a nice chocolate and pear cake from SwissBake. Kh and Mc were deeply surprised and they blow the candle. I took out the extra takeaway lunchbox that I had hid and passed it to Clarence.

9.00pm: Kh received the Certificate of Sisterhood from Mc and Jf. Mc received a photo book from Prints with 2 of our best and most recent photos together, with our birthday messages written on the border. Part 2 of Mc's present will be given at a later date.

After hearing Jf play her ukulele, I want it even more now.
