Uncle Nathan?

The other day, I was driving home during my driving lesson when my instructor, Uncle Alan, spotted the President's house nearby (Yes, I do live near the President).

him: Woah whose house is that? Got policeman!
me: That's the President's house. You don't know meh?
him: President?
me: S.R Nathan?
him: Huh?! Uncle Nathan?
me: Uncle Nathan?

Later on, I found out that he was one of those who were invited to Istana to have a meal with the President because he was one of the top fund-raisers in Singapore. Also, he met "Uncle Nathan" on many other occasions too, due to the fact that he's very active in community service. Hence, the affectionate name.

It was weird though. First, we've driven past the President's house many times and he only noticed it now. Second, he's a friend of the President yet he did not know where he lives. I thought EVERYONE knows where he lives. But then again, I don't suppose their conversations include anything about their residence anyway. Third, "Uncle Nathan" sounds really funny to me. LOL.

The best part of this is that he gets about 8 tickets to the NDP every year! WOW! It's been a long time since I went to the NDP! He said I could get it from him next year! YEAH!

Goong

Recently, I got hooked onto "Goong". It's a new korean romantic comedy which stars the cutest actors! Aww... I can't stop thinking about this show! It's sooo nice! And the soundtracks! Can't stop listening to them either!

I'm crazy about this show already. Joo Ji Hoon and Yoon Eun Hye look so cute together! I honestly hope they'll be a couple in real life as well. =X What a fairytale! Aww...

Fireworks

Funny Incident II

Recently, I had an opportunity to ride on one of the new SBS handicap-friendly buses. It was really amazing. But what facinates me most is this:



Ridiculous. They just wouldn't let you off, would they? Every little space in and outside the bus is filled with advertisements. My marketing lecturer said an average human being sees about 3,000 ads a day, whether conscious of it or not. He's probably right. This is insane.

A stray kitty

Few days ago, Kh and I found this stray kitty outside my house. It was so tiny, about as big as our hands! It was raining that day and poor kitty was shivering so badly, so Kh brought it into the building. Don't know what happen to it now. Nowhere in sight! =(

A Random Tuesday

I just started school 2 days ago and it has been really fun so far. Lectures are typically 3hours long, and surprisingly, I paid full attention to them (As you already know, this is an extremely rare case.). The australian lecturer was really humorous! I remember a time when he was talking about The Body Shop being bought over by L'OREAL.

Him: Anybody here is a Body Shop shopper and is going to stop shopping at The Body Shop?
no response from lecture group...
Him: Anybody here is a Body Shop shopper and still wants to shop at The Body Shop?
2 people raise their hands...
Him: Anybody here is a not a Body Shop shopper?
no response again....
Him: Anybody here is too scared to raise their hands? Please raise your hands.
me: LOL -_-"

Lecture breaks are really something to look forward to. We get free food for every lecture tea break (Well, not actually free, considering the amount we paid.). Yesterday, we had hotdog buns, curry puffs and peach danish (my fave). Today, we have cappucino mousse, apple puff, and tuna sandwich (which I love too, but unfortunately missed out because it was snapped up too quickly). Yum yum! Ooh, the teh is nice too! =D

After lecture, I headed straight home and took a nap. So tired these days, I really don't know why. I think I need at least 10 hours of sleep! 8 hours just ain't enough (Oops, I'm such a pig. =X). Then, I got up hours later, had a quick dinner and set off for tuition (I'm currently tutoring some foreign kids at a boarding school nearby so I cycle there everytime).

At the lift lobby, I met my french neighbour, JP. And our conversation went something like this (it was hard to make out his heavy french accent):

me: hello
JP: Going for exercise?
me: I'm going to tutor a student.
JP: How long are you going to cycle?
me: erm.... 5mins... (feels embarrassed)
JP: Maybe you can cycle longer and join the Tour De France later.
me: ....

I honestly don't think he heard that I was going for tuition. And Tour De France? What was he thinking? -_-" It wasn't even an exercise. It was 5 mins of free transportation.
