Super hectic day

My phone couldn't receive messages the other day. Guess what.

It took my phone dunno how long to delete all these messages. =x

On a side note, I'm super happy cuz I bought a dress from Victoria's Secrets for my sis's wedding!

This dress can be worn in 7 ways. I chose the black colour. Usual price US$109 now selling for US$95 approx S$132. I'm super happy cuz my $75 discount code worked so shipping cost is virtually free! Looking forward to receiving it next week! =D

So tired. Gonna sleep soon! Another long day tomorrow.

Loving my new camera!

One of the best ways to test a camera is, of course, at night. Here I have taken 3 pictures of my mum's orchids. 1st with my 2 megapix handphone camera, 2nd with my 5.1 megapix digital camera, and lastly with my 12.2 megapix Canon 450D. To make a fair comparison, I used auto-focus for all. Absolutely no manual adjustments. Take a look at the difference.

Look how the flower at the back smoothly fades into the background, and how prominent are the flaws on the flower.

Kh says,"Of course la, your camera 12.2megapix leh." I say it's not the megapix. It's the quality of the lens. And I will prove it. Here is a picture taken with my Canon 450D at its lowest quality- 3.4megapix with some roughness.

Still better than my 5.1megapix digital camera at its best eh?

Woot! My New Canon 450D!

After much research, I finally bought my new Canon 450D from MSColor at AMK central. This is probably one of the best deals you can get already. $1,330 cash price (inclusive of gst) instead of the $1,499 as quoted by Canon. Comes with free 4GB memory card, photography guide book and LCD protector. The boss, Florence, also gave me discount for the camera bag. $25 instead of the usual $35. Not bad eh. Thank goodness I brought Kh along. He's so good at bargaining. I treated him to dinner after that! =D

Was quite glad that I managed to buy this camera today as it is out of stock in many places now. Couldn't wait for the PC fair either. Jack said they won't lower the price, only give me more useless freebies.

Shall start experimenting with it! =D

Yay another strike off my wishlist!

Busy Day

Today I planned to have a nice swim, relax, watch a movie and all. End up Kh and I received one call after another to go to town for job interviews. Had 4 interviews today. Hopefully we'll get something good out of it.

Kh: Dunno what I'm thinking. I wrote "22" under "Race".
Me: Haha.
Kh: Actually I should write "Race: Superior".
Me: You want this job or not?
Kh: It's funny what. Thought I'd write something different. This is called marketing yourself you know? Later they find it funny they hire me leh.

For the record, he DID NOT write that. He's extremely pleased with his idea/joke though. He thinks it's so original. =.="

Went to watch Chocolate after that. Cuz that was the only movie available that we haven't watched (except for Speed Racer which I'm never going to watch thanks to Rain.). A Thai movie inspired by Ong Bak. After all those stunts they did, you'd think they have the common sense to use mattresses and cushion shoes and all. But no. At the end of the movie, they will show you all the injuries their stuntmen got from the show. Splitting skull, deep cuts, broken neck... I thought nowadays there's this thing called TECHNOLOGY? Goodness knows how many peeps they sacrificed to film this movie. No wonder it took them 4 years to finish filming. And after all that, the stunts weren't that great, the movie itself wasn't that nice either. Very sad case.

Reached home at 10.40pm to see my mailbox totally flooded with emails. I opened an Aeropostale spree just yesterday night cuz Kh wanted some tshirts from there. Didn't actually expect the demand to be so great as I just closed 2 batches last saturday. Everytime I finished screening through a few orders, there will be a few more new orders coming in. These people are so totally ignoring my order cap!

To add to the stress, I have to attend to anonymous msn and friendster friend requests from people who got my email from the sprees I conduct. Very very scared of these people now (guys actually). I usually reject anonymous requests, but the other day, I kept getting repeated requests from the same guy, so I decided to just let him into my msn list to see what it's all about. Turned out that he's just another one of 'those guys', if ya know what I mean. There's only 1 thing they are interested in. Hmph! I'm never ever letting anonymous ppl into my msn list again. What is wrong with them huh?

Gotta shower now! TD with pris and kayheng later. Hah.

joke of the day

Was playing wahjong on viwawa the other day with Kh and 2 other unknown people. Halfway during the game, this happened:

Kh: I need to sleep soon. Very tired.
Player2: Tmr public holiday no need to sleep so early.
Kh: Tmr public holiday you need to eat? Need to eat of cuz need to sleep.
Me: ..........................................

Maybe it's not funny to some people, but I could so totally hear him say that. Makes me wanna laugh everytime I think about it. =x

Golf + Settlers

I had expressed some interest in learning golf some weeks back, and last night, my dad was going to meet his friend at Tanah Merah SAFRA for golf and asked me if I would like to tag along. Of course I did. So did mum, gerrie and Kh.

Dad got his friend to teach us as he was better at teaching. Haha... I managed to hit beyond the green flag (i.e, the 54m mark) after a few tries. Dad's friend kept nagging at me. Back straight, chin up, knees bent... yadayadayada... Kh, who hadn't even tried it also nagged along. I got so irritated I retorted,"You think so easy you come and try lah."

So he did. And now's my turn to have the last laugh. Wahahahaha.... XD

I don't mind learning golf but I think it's kinda zzz, though Dad's friend said that once you get the hang of it, you'd want to play 3 times a week like him. =.=" Prefer more thrilling stuff. Golf on Pangya is real fun though. Got Tomahawk, Cobra, nice landscapes... hence the term "fantasy golf". Too bad its closing down in august. =/

Yes, I've been keeping myself busy this holiday. Met up with Kh, Jack and Julie at Settlers. Jack and Julie--Kh's super lovey dovey couple friends. Went to Settlers@ClarkeQuay. Made reservations for 2pm-10pm. The person who took down the reservation was kinda sarcastic la. He kept emphasising that we will be here the WHOLE DAY. Like it was some big deal. Even when we entered the cafe, he was like,"So you all will be here the WHOLE DAY." (That's how I know that he's that sarcastic guy.) Yes we know that. We like to play so long cannot meh. -_-"

We totally entertained ourselves the whole time. Didn't need to ask them much about the games. That guy who served us was also the one who took down the reservation, and also supposedly one of the head staff of the cafe. He seemed curious as to why we didn't need his help with games (and we aren't even regulars to begin with) so I told him that Kh and I used to work at Settlers@Katong. Several hours later, he approached us and offered us a job at their cafe. Starting pay $5/hr! Which is what I get as a trainee IC at the Katong branch! Not bad lah. The work environment is also better than Katong's. But I don't think I will take up the offer. The location is too inconvenient for me. Also, I'm currently looking for a serious part-time job that could possibly "beautify" my resume.

Gotta seriously start looking for a job!

Table tennis + badminton

Met Jf and Kh today for badminton and table tennis again. Jf has moved out of her Raffles Hall for the holidays so we played at Kampong Chai Chee CC instead. Funny thing is Jf forgot to bring her racket so the 3 of us took turns to play. Look what happens when Jf uses our racket:

No kidding man... the rackets actually BENT after she used them. It happened to her own racket before (which was bent at a much greater angle and is currently not suitable for use). I was telling Jf that she must have some special kind of magnetic field around her. Thank goodness these rackets only cost $7-$9. =x

Played table tennis after that. Can say that our skills have improved. Haha. All of us were so tired after the badminton thingy that we were almost braindead when it came to table tennis. Kh totally sat there and watch while Jf and I played on auto-mode.

Kh: Woah, nice shot!
Me: What?
Kh: Just now, nice shot.
Me: Oh. Didn't see. We're on auto mode.

Jf said that I play better on auto mode than normally. =.=" I tell ya it's the bat la. Strange that for 2 years I trained in the table tennis team in JC using a long-hand bat, yet after all that, I still play better with a short-hand bat (aka PRC style), and I have only used it 3 times for that matter. The difference in skill is just so much, I'm seriously considering switching to PRC style for good, but that's so weird isn't it. It's like for 2 years those trainings are for nothing. =.=

After which we headed to Jf's house. Yeah... Amy, MC, you totally missed your chance! Yeah man, we've known Jf for 10 years and none of us ever got to go to her house. Finally there is such an opportunity, as the CC is near her house. Hee =D

Jf played a very nice piece for us on her organ! Pro lah. She made us want to dance with the cha cha beat.

Met up with MC for dinner after that! Kh seems like the replacement Amy. Hah.

Ideas for wedding games?

Exams are finally over. They ended on thursday for me, but I still can't help feeling a little lousy about it. Although I can honestly say that I've never been more prepared for exams in my life, there's the very dreadful BE with its super-unrelated-to-what-we-study questions, and then there's AMCA, which I was quite unprepared for as it was the last paper and I totally did not have the mood to study.

On a happier note, there's lots for me to do this holiday! First, I'm gonna get my Canon 450D, and I'm gonna find a job, gonna organise lotsa sprees, and I gotta start thinking of games for my sis' wedding!

Ya know those games people play at the house when the groom comes to pick the bride up? Yeah I didn't think people of this generation would want to do such things anymore, but my sis says its for fun lah, and she's putting me in charge of it. Okay people, so if ya know of any wedding games, please let me know. It would be greatly helpful to me. =)
