Creative Zen Neeon 2

Woo... another strike off my wishlist! Finally bought my Creative Zen Neeon 2!!! $129 for 1G with student discount at the Creative sale. I had it under reservation as it was out of stock. Waited for 2 weeks and finally got the pink one, as the black one is still out of stock. Well, pink is nice too. ^__^

I was telling Kh that now we have "couple mp3". He was like,"Mine Zen Neeon lor. Not same." Aiya whatever. Zen Neeon looks masculine. Zen Neeon 2 looks feminine. So, "couple mp3". ^__^

Oh, I pasted a sticker on it, by the way. I was telling Kh that he should use his Stik-Ons as they are so nice. Then he asked why I wasn't using it then. I said,"I'm not sick of it yet." He replied,"I'm also not sick of it yet." Okay, so I just pasted the guitar Stik-On on it just to prove that it's nice and useful, and I was going to use it. Actually, the Neeon 2 Stik-Ons are very ugly. I was just trying to tell him that his Neeon 1 Stik-Ons are nice. Now, that doesn't make any sense. -_-"

EWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I was having a very bad bout of diarrhoea, thanks to the curry from Thursday's lunch. I was feeling a little nauseous in the morning and I went to the toilet about 6 times, just to clear the bad stuff. I won't say I've fully recovered because my stomach still feels weak. Well, now thanks to today's dinner, I think it's feeling weaker than ever. =(

Ok, I was drinking the watercress soup my mum bought back, when I spotted a HUGE CATERPILLAR!!!! EWW EWWW EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *pukepuke* I almost mistook it for ginger/ginseng. I think I would've eaten it if I hadn't seen its LEGS!!!!

CM said,"Caterpillar? Eww... later become butterflies in the stomach." Thanks man, it sounds like a nice proverb but EWWWWWW!!!!! STOP IT!!!!!

I think I'm about to faint already. Gerrie seemed to be having fun with the caterpillar because she was poking it with the plastic spoon. I cringed when I saw it bend up at the pivot. Then, I felt my legs wobble.

I already emailed my complaint letter to AVA, and I even took a picture of it in case the AVA needs evidence. I don't really care if it's a small little one because sometimes it's really hard to spot. BUT it's a HUGE one! It's impossible not to have seen it unless there was sheer negligence on the hawkers' part! Which is obviously the case. You know what, I'm not even going to put the photo up here. The sight of it just gives me the creeeeeeeeepppsss!!!

Gosh, I'm feeling very itchy right now. I've been downing myself with Yakult and chocolates. Yakult to "detox". Chocolates to forget how my dinner tasted like.

I'm so gonna boycott that stall. For anyone who needs info, it's the stall between the hokkien mee and fish soup stall at Haig Road hawker center. Anyway their food is not really nice la. The one opposite is nicer. DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

I showed Xy the photo and she was like,"Disgusting." I said,"Well, it looks disgusting on a leaf. It looks EVEN MORE DISGUSTING IN MY SOUP!!!" Eww. Enough said.

Oh what fun it is to play (+ some complaints)

Kh and I finally made a trip down to Settlers today for the Ladies' Night special. I've heard of it some years back but never got round to visiting that place. It was Leonard who reminded me of such a place (thanks! =) ), and now I've found myself a new hangout! Yes, I'm a boardgame fanatic, if you don't already know.

Ladies' Night special cost $6/lady and $9/gentleman for free flow drinks and games from 7pm-11pm. It is the best deal they have there (I think), and it coincides with our rest day (Thursday, also our rollerblading day =D ). The 2 of us ordered main courses along with the special package and we ended up with a total bill of $28. We decided that we should have our dinner first before we go there next time. Yes, we're cheapskate people. Only because we're poor. T_T

The food was quite good and the variety of games, well, enough to please us. =) We played Hotel, St. Petersburg, Fire & Ice, and Lost Cities today. Previously, I was planning to buy the St. Petersburg boardgame on Ebay, but wasn't quite sure if I should. Kh had his first taste of St. Petersburg today, and he reckons that we should go ahead and buy it. It's worth it cuz it ain't that expensive, and it's a game where you can keep playing and won't get sick of it. =)

Hotel, ahh, a game I love so much yet almost extinct now. Well, I might consider buying the Las Vegas Edition which is on sale at Ebay for a not-so-cheap price.

The crew was helpful in answering our questions and facilitating the games, though I wish that some of them would be more spontaneous in their service.

Amy asked,"Just the 2 of you?" Yeah, I like it this way. Some wonder if it's any fun at all for 2 people to play boardgames. More people more fun right? Well, not necessarily true. 2 people means emotional freedom. I don't get bogged down by excuses and latecomers, and I get to play more games. 2 people is great fun, and I'm not saying that I'll rule out a bigger group.

(*starts ranting*)

Having said that, I must admit that Kh and I do not like to organise outings anymore. In fact, we'll try to avoid doing so if we can. It's frustrating when people keep giving empty promises and lame excuses. They'd tell you,"Sounds great! I'll be there," then, at the last hour, they'll say,"Sorry I can't make it." I can totally understand if it's due to important reasons, but more often than not, "sorry I can't make it" is just another lame excuse for not being able to honor their word.

Well, if you weren't that interested in the first place, you should've told us so. Why do some people love to give us that tinge of hope, then crush it all in one single SMS? Is it fun to disappoint people? Is it cool to be so irresponsible and inconsiderate? "But I'm sorry!" Well, "sorry" is one of the most overused word in the English language. If you're truly sorry, you would come and stop giving us lame excuses. If you're truly sorry, you wouldn't have given those empty promises to irritate and disappoint us. As Kh would say,"Ai jiu ai, mai jiu mai." Why must ai mai ai mai then in the end mai? We not so free to play with you can? We don't need you to be there. We just want honest answers.

When I send out mass smses asking those who want to come to reply, some reply and don't come. Some don't reply and come. Some would say,"I'll only come if so and so is going." Only few would actually reply and come (and I'm thankful for them). To those people who say "I'll only come if so-so is going", we say heck it. If that's the only thing you're interested in, then don't come.

I'm not pointing at any particular person who reads this, because I must admit, sometimes I do unintentionally send out messages of false hope, but I'll always try to be aware of that. It's the people who are constantly making empty promises/empty talk that gets to me. People who are all talk no action.

Yes, back to my day at Settlers... I'm looking forward to more boardgame fun in the weeks to come. =)

Backpacker's Tales: Thailand, Bangkok

I thought I have the least to say about Chiang Mai, but come to think of it, I have even lesser to say about Bangkok. Yes, I'm not quite into city life. If anything, I've been living in a city for almost 21 years of my life. Do I really need anymore of it? No thanks. I do love the shopping though. And I'll gladly go back for more.

I guess most of us have been to Bangkok at least once in our life. It's the usual shopping spots, MahBoonKrong, among the most commonly recommended one. Ironically, I bought nothing there. Well, there was this really pretty Guess shoulderbag that I fell in love with at first sight. Unfortunately, it was most probably a fake, and it cost a cool S$80. Until now, I'm still a little regretful for not buying it. S$80 for a fake is way too much, but it looks so real anyway, who can tell? Besides, I haven't seen such a nice one at the authentic Guess outlets. Sometimes I'll tell myself,"It's just a bag. No need to feel so emotional over it." BUT IT'S SO PRETTY!!! Ok nvm. Ignore me. =X

Anyway, sorry to all MBK fans, but I personally feel that that place is so overrated. Then, there was Carrefour (They have 199Baht shoes there. I bought 4 pairs), Jusco (nothing much), and Robinsons. When I go overseas, I don't shop at international brands unless they have something different. Reason is, if I wanted to shop at Robinsons, I'd have done it in Singapore. Why travel all the way to Bangkok to shop at another Robinsons? Plus, Robinsons Singapore has got sales 283 days out of 365 days, yet I still refuse to shop there.

Me, pure wholesale and street shopping chiongster. Hah, that's why I love Platinum Plaza and Pratunam market (which is nearby). That is also why I was the one who bought the most things but spent the least. =)

Platinum Plaza. Sometime this year, I'll wanna go back there again. =X

I must say about 95% of the shops there sell female stuff. Kh was in an extremely bad mood cuz us ladies were spending the whole day there, and he had nothing to do except to wait for us. He did, however, bought 2 pairs of pants, and that cheered him up a little.

We bought so much stuff, that I had to buy a cheap plastic luggage bag to hold all our stuff. My 2 little cousins would help us drag it around while we shopped as it was too heavy (even for us) to carry.

As for accomodation, we stayed at a budget (Lonely Planet classifies it as Midrange. To them Budget less than 500B) hotel, Wataniya Mansion, at 600B per room per night. 3 of us would share 1 room, so that's about S$9 per person per night. It's a small apartment building behind the Poseidon Hotel. Quite accessible to major shopping centers.

Kh's parents got free upgrade to a suite in this hotel before. I saw the pics. It's BEAAUUUTTIIFFFUUUULLLLL!!!!!
