NDP'07

Went to the rehearsal yesterday. I've got the tickets cuz 2 of my cousins are performing. Anyway, don't expect anything much from this year since it's held at Marina. The stage is so tiny, so that's a huge disadvantage by itself already. It's quite boring in fact. I dozed off halfway... Yeah, believe it or not, I really did. Even under such hot, noisy and uncomfortable conditions... But well, I guess they've already tried their best to make this as good as possible. Love the pyrotechnics, the use of the riverwaters for extra space, and of course the fireworks.

Pic 1 & 2: The simulator for Asha. What an embarrassing job. =/
Pic 3: Juz B & Sheikh Haikel
Pic 4: Tang Quartet
The Red Lions

I think this is one of the more interesting parts of the show. zzz
5th pic: the cannons!
7th pic: the Chinook almost on water!
8th pic: members of the elite force repelling down the ropes
9th pic: super fast speed boat. way too cool.

The use of water space... Guess that's Sang Nila Utama's boat, and "floating" jellyfishes.

Cruise: Phuket, Langkawi (Part 1)

I shall let the pics do most of the talking...

1st July 07: My 21st bdae, 50th-mth anniversary, onboard SuperStar Virgo

A surprise gift from StarCruise. Found this on our cabin's dressing table.

Spotted a Chinook on the deck! Must be on its way to Marina Bay.

The Parthenon Pool! Aw man, we missed Monday night's poolside BBQ dinner!

The Aquaswim pool.
Free for all balcony class ppl (that's us). I tried it, it's quite fun. Like swimming against the current. But it's very tiring!

We also tried the suana and steam bath which is all located in the changing room. It's HOT HOT HOT!!! I like the steam bath more though. It makes your skin feel smooth. =)

Well, I thought the changing room would be like a bathroom ya know. Didn't expect to see lockers (water and towels provided inside), sofa, tv, suana, steam bath, showering rooms, massage rooms, dressing tables equipped with hairdryers, shampoo, soap, ear butt, moisturiser and so on. Now, this is what I call a spa!

Neptune's Wet and Wild.
Children's play pool.

The ice-cream bar! We had Swensens chocolate and coffee ice-cream here and we took the picture below from our seat.

This is how high and how big the ship is. The view of the dock below from Deck 12. Highest floor is deck 13.

The Captain's Bridge!
It's very high-tech!

The helicopter landing pad!

Deck 12 corridor. Look how grand it is! At the far end you'll see the entrance to a bar (pic below).

The Galaxy of the Stars bar.
We come here quite often to drink/listen to live band, and for Bingo, gameshow or just to relax. Great view from here. Better yet, it's only directly above our cabin! One reason why we don't get late enough to miss their programmes.

Will post more pics soon. =)

Happy Birthday to ME

I'm back! First and foremost, I'd like to thank ALL who wished me a happy birthday and/or given me gifts. I really appreciate it a lot.

Especially to the following people:

To Ms See and Ful, thanks for making the trip to Settlers to accomodate my busy schedule though Ful, you were not feeling well. And thanks for the presents too.

To Pris, thanks for the Guess wallet (now that's another strike off my wishlist! =) ), for driving to my house just to pass me the wallet before I leave for my cruise, and for coming down to visit me at Settlers too. That's so nice of you. =)

To Amy and Jf, thanks for coming down to Settlers (again to accomodate my busy schedule), for the wonderfully planned birthday surprise that totally caught me offguard (I forgot it was to celebrate my birthday. Thought we were just meeting up to chat. =\ ), and for the lovely presents!

To my family members and Jeremy (sis's bf or should I say.. ahem.. fiancé) for the sumptuous dinner at SAFRA and of course the very nice birthday surprise. Really wonderful presents. And a great big surprise from Gerrie. 1. You didn't buy me anything from Watsons. 2. You got me a Roxy bag. Unbelieveable. And yes I love it. ^__^

Last but not least,

To Kh, for the all-expenses-paid cruise trip, for the 50th-month anniversary gift, for a Converse jacket which I've wanted for so long, and for all the effort made into planning all my birthday surprises. =) A great big THANK YOU to you! =)

Alright, I shall blog about the cruise trip soon. Lotsa pics to share, lotsa things to say. Will need quite some time to get it published as I'll be having lectures and work almost everyday from now on. =(

Okay I've just gotten home from the cafe. Stayed over again as usual, cuz Kh didn't want to leave.

As I've told Kh, I shall now blog about what happen just now at the cafe. Hilarious really.

We were playing Absolute Balderdash. Just a brief overview of the game... It's a bluffing game where you are try to guess the answer to the question, and at the same time, convince other people that your answer is the correct one. And once again, good old Terence never failed to brighten our day.

Here was what happened:

Question: What does I.B.D.C.C stand for?
his answer: Intensive Bonding of Deaf Cows Campaign

Correct answer: International Barbie Doll Collectors Club

Hilarious sia... I was the judge for that round, and I was laughing till my intestines were about to come out, and it took me some time to finish reading that whole phrase out cuz I couldn't stop laughing. What was he thinking man? Deaf cows? Even deaf children sounds more logical. Gosh.

Question: What does A.A.H.A stand for?
his answer: Apple Ant Horse Antique

Correct answer: American Association for Handwriting Analyst

Absolute nonsense. Again, Kh had to read this one out for me.

Question: Who is Max Kiss?
his answer: The son of the guy who invented French Kiss.

This one's a classic sia.... forgot the correct answer. I'm so gonna remember him for this one. I think for a good period of his life, we'll all tease him about this.

Birthdays

Two 21st birthday parties to attend in a day! Woot!

First up, Kh's party. It was held at Civil Service Club SuperBowl. Free flow bowling games and buffet for guests (of cuz at his parents expenses). I think there were about 40-50+ guests.
Only managed to successfully upload these few pics...

Rum and cherry chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate

all the party stuff bought from Party With Us

Poor boy never got to own a remote control helicopter. Only I knew his secret wish. Heh.

His party ended at 9.30pm. After which, we rushed down to Mc's party, but pity most people left already. Mc's mum was very generous. All of us had a welcome gift--a box of chocolates each from Chocz. Heard it cost $5 per box and her mum ordered 100. Woah...

Anyway, Amy you asked about the wand? Lol. It's very pretty. You know when you told me Jf gave Mc a wand, I was thinking those black sticks with white tip. LOL! So when I saw Mc, I asked her,"So, can it do magic?" -_________-" And she was like,"Don't be crazy!" Haha. Well, turns out the "wand" is this silver stick with one heart at the end, and the heart has pink jewels on it. Perfect addition to Mc's princess fantasy. Haha.

And Jf, I also read the note you gave to Mc. LOL! It was so funny la. It was so funny when Mc read it out aloud to me. It was even funnier when I read it myself. Worm-handwriting (do yr worm-dance) scrawled in black ink with ink smudge all over. So typical! Hah.

Kh and I stayed overnight with Mc, her sis and some of her friends at the bungalow. Played some stupid games. One of Mc's friends, Ronnie, was a bit of a dimwit when it comes to playing games. We spent like dunno how long, just to teach him how to play Heart Attack. And after explaining so many times, he would still keep losing. It was hilarious.

Yep, and I taught Mc and her sis how to play Dai Dee. On sat night, I was telling her how to remember the order of the suites. DCHS (Diamond, Club, Heart, Spade), red black red black. By sunday morning, she was still trying hard to remember the order, so much so that DCHS became HSBC. LOL!!! We were teasing her so much that she wanted to give up. HAHA.

So the next day, Dad let me drive to Hilltop for our Fathers' Day dinner. In case anybody doesn't know where it is, it's near Jurong Bird Park, right at the top of the hill. And hey, it's my second time driving on this car okay. Pretty scary. It was a really long journey. Drove on 3 expressways where everyone else was speeding, and up the hill on the winding road, where it was pretty dark and the roads are narrow. I'm only glad to be safe.

My arty farty sis (the older one) made this card. Look how cute it is.

That's me the second peanut from the right. And Gerrie has short hair. Not bad la... Even the peanuts are up-to-date.

When we got back, just as I was about to park, both my sisters suddenly got off the car.

sis: Wait, lemme get off first.
me: Huh? Why?
sis: I wanna bathe first. You take very long to park right?
me: !!! (like what's that suppose to mean sia...)

Anyway, after they left I one shot go in lor. What the heck la...
