Cousin's Wedding

Cousin's wedding on 4th June...

Buffet breakfast at his house

I love the fruit tarts!

Not bad... but chicken too salty.

Cousin Guo Lie and wife arrived

Grandma had put an ang pow on the floor. The bride was supposed to step on it for good fortune or something like that. A lot of people didn't know, and went around asking,"Eh who drop the ang pow?!" It was funny. Hah

Photo-taking
Cousin Dennis was so naughty. He was like,"You jealous right? Ppl camera bigger than yours..." I wanted to strangle him! He's 11 by the way. =.=

Cousin Guo Lie borrowed 6th uncle's new car for this day...

Why is Dennis playing with my camera?!

Was trying out the keyboard in 姗姗姐姐's room

Cocktail reception

Held at Grand Copthrone Ballroom

Apparently you need at least 40 tables to be able to book the ballroom, if not the hotel will assign you a smaller room. Cousin Guo Lie had 60 tables! Madness... 600 guests.... *chokes* Well, he's the oldest grandson, what can I say?

"I'll be shopping for a living!"

Just 2 days ago I was determined to commit to studying for CFA after some encouragement from kh, kh's sis, jack and mum. I was getting pretty pessimistic about the job outlook, although, I must admit, I haven't exactly been diligently sourcing for jobs in the first place. Too many TV series getting in the way. =.=

Anyhow, all plans to study further have to be put on hold now because of the change in situation. John Little has offered me a position as an Assistant Buyer. Went down to Marina Square today to sign the appointment letter. Will be starting work next monday!

The pay is not that great but I guess it's something I would enjoy doing, and also something I can definitely see myself doing in the future. Well, I'd be shopping for a living! What's there not to like? Lol. And I also get to enjoy a cool 25% staff discount. Hehe.

Was slightly hesistant at first cuz I was hoping for a higher wage. But then, you'll need a lot of experience and a large portfolio to advance as a buyer. Not many companies are willing to train fresh grads at this time. So I guess this job is a good start.

Incidentally, they hired me cuz of my experience dealing with suppliers through online shopping rather than for my marketing degree. Kinda shows how useless my cert is. And this really puts me in a dilemma because it makes me wanna study further even more. =.= Well, I'll see how it goes. Still have until August to decide if I wanna continue studying.

I just hope my job is fun. =) And please gimme a pay rise soon. >_< Yes, and I need to buy more fashion magazines. Research, research!

Grad Trip (Part 2)

Continuation from Grad Trip (Part 1)...

Finally... Part 2! Better quickly blog before my memory fails me haha.

Onboard Superstar Virgo...

Power abs gym class! It's kinda crazy. 20mins non-stop crunches!

Mr Gym Instructor was rather funny. The uncle behind me couldn't keep up with the beat so he just gave up and refused to move. Mr Gym Instructor was like,"Uncle please don't hate me! ... Oh I love my job!"

Our very first stop in the trip: Penang...

We had to take a smaller boat to the small harbour as the cruise ship is too big to dock there.

Met up with Kh's buddy, Yu Ting who is back in his hometown in Penang for the NUS semester break. He was very kind to pick us up at the harbour and show us around town!

Me and the babes can see why they are such good buddies. They kept talking non-stop to each other like we were not even there. =.=

Yu Ting drove us around in his Proton car

We stopped for cakes at Secret Recipe

Then he took us to a super run-down coffee shop for some very very good authentic Penang food!

Penang Bo Bo Cha Cha

I've been craving for this... Penang Laksa!!! Yum!

Penang Char Kway Teow

Penang Ngoh Hiang

Then he drove us up Penang hill to visit the famous buddhist temple.
