Meaningless Conversations

I hate meaningless conversations.

An example goes like this:

A: I've got something to tell you.
Me: What.
A: (insert cryptic code)
Me: What is it? Just tell me.
A: I'm not supposed to tell anyone openly but I can give you hints.

Oh seriously. Don't waste my time. If you've got something to say, then say it. Don't come playing guess-what-I'm-thinking games with me. What, are you twelve?

Rachel

I miss Rachel. She's such a darling. =)

Haircut

I went to cut my hair the other day. And the stylist thinned my hair A LOT. Like, it's almost enough to make a wig!

shoe for comparison

Maybe I should think about selling my hair.

GE2011 Results

Stayed up till 4am to watch GE2011 results! As some will say,"This is more exciting than the World Cup!"

Yam Ah Mee was totally entertaining. Now he even has his own fan-made remix on Youtube.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the results. People who deserved to win, won (more about TPL later). WP took additional 5 seats which is like more than the opposition ever held since independence. It is indeed a breakthrough in our political landscape and they deserve credit for that. I think no one really doubts the PAP's capability to run a government well, but majority would agree that a few more seats should be given to the opposition to check the PAP, and no one deserves it better than the WP. On the other hand, I'm annoyed that it is at the expanse of George Yeo. Even more annoying is the WP's initiative to steer guilty voters to the notion "George Yeo for President". Please. President has no power. Such a capable man. He should be the next Prime Minister. It is unknown what George Yeo's future is now, but I reckon he will make a comeback.

Now on the topic of TPL. When a certain friend asked me to vote for Nicole Seah, I was like no, it's not my business cuz it's not my constituency. I don't know for what reason I thought I was abandoned to Joo Chiat SMC. Only on polling day that I realised that I was still under Marine Parade GRC (heng!). Although I wasn't about to change my mind but I guess that made the decision a lot easier. I don't doubt Nicole Seah's potential, but that chick should have joined WP instead. There was absolutely no way I was going to vote SM Goh out just so TPL will be out. It's absolutely ridiculous. If TPL and SM don't deserve to be in, then what makes a warehouse assistant with no experience governing more deserving?

Moving on, what's done is done. People should accept the results and move on. I still see a petition to remove TPL as MP floating around Facebook. How childish. Do you actually think the government will listen to a petty petition like that? PAP are not stupid people. They wouldn't bring TPL in if they didn't think she has potential. Just give her time man. It ain't easy to make a decision to step into politics and to stay after all that backlash. And I think that if she doesn't perform within these few years, PAP will auto-kick her too.

GE2011 (II)

It's damn annoying when I log onto Facebook these days and there's always a couple of people on the newsfeed complaining about the government, making snide remarks, and misquoting the PAP (there's video evidence). I'm saying this not in defence of PAP, but well, I haven't seen people doing the same for the opposition.

Whatever man. Not happy then don't vote for them lah. Talk so much for what. I don't see the need for all these hate, and spreading of hate. It's extremely childish and uncalled for.

Why can't we be civilised people and have insightful debates instead of taunting and jeering. It's embarrassing to see Singaporeans behaving like a bunch of goons on the open social media platforms. I guess where the education system really failed is to teach us to be gracious people like the Japanese.

And then we also get people complaining about the sensationalism on the local news that favours the PAP. Oh, so the TR and TOC that you read so frequently isn't? Grow up. Sensationalism is everywhere. Whether it's for the PAP, or the Opposition, sensationalism is what the media thrives on. It's up to you to believe what is published, but nobody should narrow their sights on one news platform just because it claims to be the one true "open" platform. *rolls eyes*

Clearly, some people aren't using much of their brains.
