Comex 2008

Woot! Bought a laser printer and an exteral harddisk at Comex today. =)

Bought a Samsung colour laser printer for $268 cos my current Brother printer really high maintenence. Super ex to print. Wanted to get a 4-in-1 colour laser printer but it costs a min of $899. So guess I'll use my Brother printer for scanning and photocopying and this one to print documents. =)
Also bought a 320GB Western Digital portable harddisk at $149.90. Love it's sleek design! No choice as my own laptop is desperately crying out for space. Been having warnings that the com is functioning on low memory and it'll even hang sometimes.
And they gave me a free pouch!

Yay!

Board Games Galore

Yay! My board games finally arrived on Monday. After a 6-month hiatus from Settlers, Kh and I were so bored with our current collection that we purchased $600 worth of board games online. It is for this purpose that I held a board games spree, which to my surprise, attracted rather good response.

The goods arrived in 2 large boxes!

The games we bought... We're huge fans of Rio Grande games. =)

Jack and Julie kept saying that we are the new Settlers. Funny 'cos a new Settlers outlet just opened at SMU and I'm working there. Yups it's the biggest and nicest outlet of all, and it offers a lot more than just board gaming. I shall take this time to help CY advertise: http://sg.settlerscafe.com/200808/OpeningSMU.jpg

KL Trip 2008

Went to KL for a short holiday with Kh, and another 9 of my family members on 9 August, National Day. GC was like,"You don't love Singapore!" Hey I don't need to be in Singapore to love Singapore okay. Try telling that to thousands and thousands of Singaporeans who contributed to the jam at the 2 causeways at 5am in the morning. We thought we were early. Apparently not.

The queue was so bad that a third line was formed--- the queue of queue-cutters. 1 guy even bumped into another guy's car after trying to cut in front of another car. The guy whose car got bumped was so mad he got up and kicked the queue-cutter's car. And then there was some argument, and more jam. Thankfully, we were already in front of them when that happened.

Sunrise

38 more kilometres to go!

My lovely cousins...

Drove in in 2 MPVs. 6th uncle's Toyota Picnic looks small next to 姑姑's 2500cc Nissan Prestage.
Not to mention the malaysian car in the middle.

Booked a 3BR2BA suite at Berjaya KL Plaza Suites Hotel in the city central. Wanted to book the 3-bedroom suites at Zon All Suites Hotel and PNB Darby Park which are just opposite the Petronas, but they were all fully booked. In the end, I found this website which can offer me a suite for only 500RM (U.P 650RM) for 1 night. Upon check-in, we were blessed with a free upgrade to the VIP suite, and an additional 50RM discount. Requested for high floor and was given 16 out of 20. Supposed to check in at 3pm but we were there early, so they let us check in at 11am. So to sum it up, I paid a total of 455RM for a 3BR2BA VIP suite which costs 800RM originally and enjoyed a whole lot of privileges. Woah. Is this a bargain or what?

Coveniently located in the City Central and within walking distance to the Petronas.

Went to this super rundown hawker center nearby and tried their zi cha there, as recommended by a local. It was one of the best zi cha I've ever eaten in my life. Super strong wok taste. And the food is always steaming hot! See below! Anyone knows how fast Banana Leaf's service is? Well, this is the zi cha version of Banana Leaf. You get your food almost immediately after you order. How can food be cooked THAT quick?

Lol... I didn't know KL tower was in my viewing frame until I took this pic.

Shopping at Sungei Wang/BB Plaza.

Berjaya Times Square

Cosmo Theme Park on the 5th floor. Strangely, Cousin Dennis had to buy an adult ticket for his height. He's only 10 and not tall for his age at all. I think they just wanna cheat my uncle's money!

Supper at JB before heading back home. There was so much food!

Kelong Trip

Went to a kelong off Pulau Sibu in Malaysia during the weekend with Kh, Jf, MC, Clarence, and Jessey. I gotta say it was super super fun although I wished we had played mahjong or fished overnight instead of sleeping. But what to do, the conditions were just perfect for sleeping. XD

Breakfast at MC's house.

The van came to pick us up at MC's house at 6am.

Plantations again....

Arrival at Tanjung Leman Jetty after the 1hr plus journey.

On board the speedboat. Less than 10mins journey to the kelong. 20mins if we were to travel by the bigger boat, which we missed (thankfully). In the end we still reach faster than the bigger boat. Love the thrill.

Hot Boys Kelong...
At first I thought it's called Hot Boys cuz there are many hot boys there. Was asking Kh where were the hot boys and he told me it's called HOT boys becuz the 3 bosses' surnames are Huang, Ong and Tan. Cool.

Crystal clear waters...

Kelong facilities...

Kh bought durains from those durian sellers on the boat. RM10 for a whole bunch! He and Clarence kept eating durians all day.

Lunch... =P~

Breakfast... =P~
Another lunch... =P~

Fun & games...

My winning set. Biggest yet in my history of mahjong playing.

2 tai- Ban Se
2 tai- Pong Hu
2 tai- Own wind + Round wind
1 tai- Zi Mo
Woot 7 tai without having any zoo or garden. =x

Saw a funny creature...

Someone caught a pufferfish!

Caught someone catching a cute fish! It looks poisonous. =/

Someone's catch!

Someone even brought a inflatable children's play pool for the fishes. We call this the "recuperation room". For the fishes that is. However, instead of recuperating, many fishes died in there. Probably attacked by those territorial prawns.

It was pitch black at night. Totally no moonlight as it was a very very cloudy day. Which made me wonder why it didn't rain.
Beautiful sunset...
Sunrise... Too cloudy to see any sun... but nevertheless still beautiful. =)

I call this the "pregnant woman" island...

Just what is Jf trying to do?

Before we left...

Me: Did you leave anything behind?
MC: Yes. Satisfaction.
Me: Very good answer.

=)
